Serra Gaúcha Wine Tour + Fetina de Formaio Cheese Factory Visit

On this wine tour through the Serra Gaúcha, we'll visit two famous wineries and a cheese factory with a cheese tasting.

Activity Details

We will pick you up at your hotel in Gramado and start the wine tour through the Serra Gaúcha, Brazil's main wine tourism destination.

During the tour, we'll visit different wineries, spending an hour at each. We'll discuss the impact of Italian immigration on the region's reputation for quality wines, particularly sparkling wines.

First, we will go to Bento Gonçalves to visit the Aurora winery, one of Brazil's largest cooperatives. Here, the staff will lead us to the tasting room for a sparkling wine tasting.

Next, we will stop at the Epopeia Italiana Theme Park to explore the history of Italian immigrants in Brazil.

Following this, we will visit the Garibaldi winery, recognized for its award-winning blends. During our guided tour, we'll learn how the Serra Gaúcha region produces over 80% of Brazil's national wine. We'll also enjoy a tasting of five cold and sparkling wines.

After the tasting, we will drop you off at the Fenachamp restaurant for a lunch featuring traditional Brazilian cuisine. Post-lunch, we will visit the Fetina de Formaio cheese factory to see how gourmet cheeses are handcrafted and sample some varieties.

The tour will conclude with your return to the hotel, approximately 12 hours later.
