Tour Overview
When the time arrives, we will gather in the bustling center of Milan, just a stone's throw from the Duomo, to kick off our experience with an insightful introduction while admiring its impressive facade.
Our journey begins inside the cathedral, a masterpiece whose remarkable architecture took centuries to finish. Commissioned in 1386 by Gian Galeazzo Visconti, the first Duke of Milan, it was built on the grounds of two earlier churches, Santa Maria Maggiore and Santa Tecla.
We will delve into this cathedral rich in artistry, history, and spiritual significance, taking in the breathtaking stained glass windows and the iconic Gothic architectural details. Did you know that the Duomo is Italy's largest church and ranks as the fifth largest in the world?
Following our exploration of the interiors, we will ascend via elevator to the stunning rooftop terrace. Covering an area of 86,111 square feet (8,000 square meters), this terrace offers a remarkable view of 135 spires, pinnacles, flying buttresses, and an innumerable array of statues. The Duomo is home to approximately 3,400 statues—each one intricately designed and carved throughout the centuries, showcasing a variety of biblical and historical personalities, creatures, and whimsical figures. Recently added statues also reflect modern history of the city.
The tour will conclude after a duration of 1 to 2 hours at the Milan Cathedral.

15 minutes before the established tour time, you'll need to meet the guide in front of 12 Oz Street Coffee, in Piazza del Duomo 4. The guide will be at the meeting point holding a DUOMO ROOFTOP TOUR sign.

- It's forbidden to enter the cathedral with helmets, glass objects, luggage, large bags or pets.
- Smoking is forbidden.
- It's expressly forbidden to enter with signs and symbols attributed to movements, associations, and subjects linked to ideologies and political affairs.
- Please also note that you must dress accordingly, with no sleeveless shirts or clothes shorter than knee length.
