Your ticket to Château de Cadillac invites you to wander through this exquisite estate, with origins tracing back to the late 16th century. Its construction initiated during the reign of Henry IV and continued under Louis XIII.

The castle showcases a remarkable fusion of regal grandeur and defensive design. While touring, you will come across expansive fireplaces with finely crafted details that enhance the beauty of the tapestries and vibrant ceilings.

During your visit to Château de Cadillac, you will also uncover the legacy of the Gascony cadets, the forebears of the Musketeers. This fortress served as a women's prison from the 19th century until 1950, and you will have the chance to explore the areas that once housed inmates.

Opening Hours

The Ducal Castle of Cadillac welcomes guests during the following times:

From May 25 to September 27, 2026: open daily from 10 am to 1:15 pm, and from 2 pm to 6 pm
From September 28, 2026, until the end of May 2027: open Tuesday to Sunday from 10 am to 12:30 pm, and from 2 pm to 5:30 pm

The final entry is 1 hour before the closing time.

On December 24 and 31, the castle will close at 4:30 pm. Additionally, it will remain closed on January 1, Easter Monday, May 1, and December 25.

This historic site offers free entry to:

Individuals aged 18 to 25 from the European Union
Anyone under 18, regardless of citizenship
Unemployed persons, individuals with disabilities, and one accompanying guest
Journalists, students of architecture, tourism industry professionals, military members, police, and other state security personnel
All visitors can enter free of charge on the first Sunday of the month from January 1 to March 31 and from November 1 to December 31, as well as during the third weekend of September.
