This Benedictine monastery was the foremost Christian church until the construction of St. Peter's Basilica in Rome.

Within this site, recognized as European Heritage, you'll also find the vestiges of one of the exquisite campuses of the esteemed Arts et Métiers ParisTech University.
Visiting Hours
Cluny Abbey welcomes guests every day of the week, operating under the following schedule:
- April 1 - June 30: from 9:30 am to 6 pm
- July 1 - August 31: from 9:30 am to 7 pm
- September 1 - 30: from 9:30 am to 6 pm
- October 1 - March 31: from 9:30 am to 5 pm
The final entry to the abbey is permitted 45 minutes prior to closing, while the last admission to the museum occurs 30 minutes before the end of the day.
Special Schedule
On December 24 and 31, the Abbey will close its doors at 4 pm.
Complimentary Admission
Entry to Cluny Abbey is free for the following groups:
- Individuals aged 18 to 25 from the European Union.
- Minors under 18, irrespective of nationality.
Additionally, free access is granted to everyone on the first Sunday of each month from January to March, and from November to December. Moreover, the 3rd weekend of September also offers complimentary admission.
To obtain the free admission described above, please visit the ticket office on-site and present an eligible verification document.

Cluny Abbey is open from Monday to Sunday at the following times:

The last allowed access to the abbey is 45 minutes before closing time, while the last access to the museum is 30 minutes before closing time.

Free Admission
Admission to The Cluny Abbey is free for the following individuals:
- Young people from the European Union between 18 and 25 years old.

Admission is also free for everyone on the first Sunday of the month between January 1 and March 31, and between November 1 and December 31. Similarly, the 3rd weekend of September is free.
In order to acquire the free admission mentioned above, you'll have to go to the site’s ticket office and present a certifying document of your eligibility for a free ticket.
