Explore Queensland Rainforest & Kuranda from Cairns

Our adventure begins at your Cairns hotel at the scheduled time. We will first make our way to the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway. Prepare to take a ride on this renowned cableway, which provides stunning views as you glide above the lush forest.

Your Skyrail journey will conclude at the Smithfield Terminal, where you can enjoy lunch at your own cost. In the afternoon, we will head to Freshwater Station, where you will board the Kuranda Scenic Rail. Experience a historic train ride through the celebrated Queensland rainforest, regarded as one of Australia's premier train routes.

Once in Kuranda, enjoy three hours of free time to wander this charming town. Explore various markets featuring local crafts and a variety of dining options.

Eventually, we will return to your hotel in Cairns, arriving approximately 7.5 hours post pickup.

Crocodile Sanctuary Experience

If you opt for this enhancement, we will collect you from your Cairns hotel at the specified time and take you to Freshwater Station to board the Kuranda Scenic Rail. This train will transport you to Kuranda, where you'll have an hour for exploration.

Next, you'll make your way to the notable Skyrail Rainforest Cableway, leading you to Smithfield Terminal Station. From there, you will proceed to Hartley's Crocodile Adventures, giving you the chance to observe these magnificent reptiles up close.

In conclusion, after your time at the sanctuary, you will return to your hotel in Cairns, with an expected arrival of about 9 hours following pickup.

Important Notice on Partial Closures

Please be aware that due to construction, the cable car service will be unavailable on the following dates:

• July 20 to August 18, 2026: During this period, the cable car service will be fully closed, and we will transport you by bus.
• August 19 to October 25, 2026: The cable car will operate solely between Kuranda and Barron Falls; the remainder of the journey will be completed by bus.

In case of these closures, you will be offered a choice between a ticket to Birdworld or Kuranda Koala Gardens as compensation.
