Grizzly Bear Observation

We begin the tour near Lake Beluga, where a minibus will transport us to Homer Airport. Here, we will board a plane, setting the stage for this adventure. Are you prepared to experience the wonder of the iconic grizzly bears?

After a flight lasting between one and one and a half hours, subject to the bears' location, we will venture into the heart of Alaska. This journey leads us to the prime area for bear sightings, complemented by breathtaking views of the surrounding glaciers and volcanoes.

Upon landing, we will commence our exploration to locate bears. The Katmai National Park boasts the largest protected population of grizzly bears globally, marking it as an exceptional venue for witnessing these magnificent animals.

Depending on where we spot them, we may witness the bears interacting in the woods or fishing for salmon in the nearby rivers. It's truly a memorable opportunity! A knowledgeable guide will ensure we visit the best locations for stunning photography, all while maintaining respect for the wildlife and minimizing risks.

After spending three hours observing these incredible mammals, we will reboard the plane for our return to Homer.

Activity Location

The site of the activity varies throughout the year, following the migratory patterns of the bears in search of sustenance. The approximate locations by season are as follows:

• May 15th - June 25th: Coastal areas of Katmai National Park and Lake Clark National Park and Preserve.
  June 26th - July 31st: Brooks Falls.
  August 1st - 31st: Within Katmai National Park or Lake Clark National Park and Preserve.
