Continuing, we’ll approach the Largo do Carmo, a significant site for understanding the Carnation Revolution, pausing at the Santa Justa elevator. This historic lift has been serving Lisbon since 1902!
Our adventure will take us through the Chiado neighborhood, celebrated for its elegance and cultural significance. Meandering through its streets, reconstructed after the devastating earthquake of 1755, we will uncover the historic role this district played as a gathering place for artists, thinkers, and the bourgeoisie of Portugal.
