Excursion to the Ruins of Herculaneum

Your adventure begins with a pickup from your hotel or a designated meeting point at the scheduled time, followed by a journey to the archaeological site of Herculaneum, one of the three cities that were entombed by the devastating eruption of Vesuvius in 79 AD. Are you ready to embark on a journey into the past?

We'll commence our exploration by wandering through the cobblestone pathways of the site, pausing at the homes and thermal baths that managed to withstand the fierce pyroclastic flow unleashed by the volcano. It’s fascinating to know that ancient Herculaneum boasted its own gymnasium.

Throughout the visit, you will marvel at the exceptional preservation of the building materials and structures, while we discuss the artistic and architectural styles prevalent during that era.

Additionally, we will make stops at several key monuments, such as the Hall of the Augustals, the baths, the House of Aristides and Neptune, the Samnite House, and the beach where tragically over 300 individuals lost their lives.

After our tour, you will have some leisure time to relax or grab a bite to eat.

Finally, after approximately two hours of exploration, we’ll conclude our activity and make our way back to the starting point.
