Day Trip Details

The adventure begins with a pick-up from your hotel in Recife, followed by a 130-kilometer (81-mile) journey inland to Caruaru.

The route itself is an integral part of the experience. You will travel through mountainous landscapes and pass towns such as Gravatá, featuring alpine-style architecture, and Bezerros, renowned for its Papangus Carnival and the woodcut prints of J. Borges.

Upon arrival in Caruaru, a guided tour of the famous craft fair awaits you. This extensive market showcases a remarkable variety of handmade pieces made from ceramics, weaving, embroidery, wood, leather, and straw. Additionally, we'll visit Vila do Forró, a themed area designed to recreate a typical town reflective of Brazil’s northeastern countryside.

Next, we will proceed to Alto do Moura, one of Brazil's key artisan hubs. Here, you will gain insights into the legacy of the old masters and visit the Mestre Vitalino House Museum, once home to an iconic figurative artist who captured everyday life in the region through clay figures.

Before the return journey, you'll have free time to grab lunch independently. This is your chance to recharge! After approximately 8 hours of exploration, we will drop you back at your hotel in Recife.
