Day Trip to Central Crete and Kournas Lake

Your journey begins at 8 am with a pickup from your accommodation in Rethymno. We will then head towards the alluring central region of Crete, where you'll uncover its charming villages and captivating scenery.

The first stop on our itinerary is the iconic Kotsifu Gorge, renowned for its towering cliffs and impressive geological features that are sure to leave you in awe. Here, we will also visit a historic church set amidst the rocks and delve into the intriguing stories that surround it.

Continuing our exploration of Central Crete, we will arrive at the renowned Askifou plateau, where you can capture the magnificent landscapes through your camera lens. Our next destination is Plakias Bay, where you'll enjoy an hour of leisure time to relax on the sandy beach and take a refreshing swim in the crystal-clear waters of the Libyan Sea.

Once rejuvenated, we will navigate through the scenic mountains of inner Crete, leading us to the historic village of Kallikrati. Here, you will immerse yourself in the village's rich traditions before moving on to Argyroupolis, known for its stunning waterfalls, an enchanting sight that should not be missed.

Our tour culminates at the picturesque Lake Kournas, where you can enjoy lunch at a local eatery at your own pace. You'll have ample time to wander and take in the beauty of this remarkable natural gem.

At around 4 pm, we will conclude our day trip, and you will be returned to your hotel in Rethymno.
