South Ghana 8-Day Tour Package
Day 1: Arrival in Accra
Upon your arrival, whether at your hotel or Accra airport, our team will be delighted to welcome you and transport you to your accommodation, where you will spend the next two nights.
Day 2: Exploring Accra
After enjoying breakfast at the hotel, we will set out to explore the vibrant capital of Ghana. Our first destination will be Independence Square, home to the Eternal Flame of African Liberation and the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park.
Adjacent to the square, you can wander through the artisan market, where various traditional West African crafts await. Following this, we’ll visit James Town, noted for its historical significance, characterized by its lighthouses that guide vessels navigating the Gulf of Guinea.
The day concludes with a return to the hotel for a delightful dinner.
Day 3: Journey from Accra to Kumasi
In the morning, we will depart Accra, heading towards the heart of Ghana. Our journey begins with a visit to the Mampong Centre for Scientific Research in Plant Medicine, followed by our arrival in Kumasi.
Once there, we will tour the Manhyia Palace, the residence of the Asantehene. Inside, you will have the opportunity to view exquisite artifacts tied to the Ashanti dynasty, including the revered Okomfo Anokye Sword, which has been a symbol of Ashanti culture for centuries.
After this enriching visit, we will check into your hotel in Kumasi for dinner.
Day 4: Discovering Kumasi
Today's itinerary includes an exploration of the craft villages within the Ashanti kingdom. Stops will feature Ahwiaa, known for woodcraft, and Ntonso, famed for its cotton weaving traditions. We will also pass through Bonwire, another notable village.
Later, we will return to the city to explore the Kumasi Central Market, the largest market in West Africa. After an engaging day, we will head back to the hotel for dinner and relaxation.
Day 5: From Kumasi to Elmina
After breakfast, we will depart Kumasi and proceed towards the Cape Coast. En route, we'll make stops at the Obuasi mine and Assin Manso, the burial site of two former slaves from the United States and Jamaica.
Continuing our journey, we’ll travel along the Slave River before arriving at the Cape Coast Castle, a recognized UNESCO World Heritage Site, infamously known as the 'Door of No Return.'
We will conclude our day by checking into your hotel in Elmina, followed by a sumptuous dinner.
Day 6: Kakum National Park and Elmina
The sixth day focuses on the natural beauty near Cape Coast. After breakfast, we will venture into Kakum National Park, where you’ll encounter vibrant birds and butterflies while traversing an impressive canopy walkway, soaring over 45 meters (147 ft) above the ground.
Back on land, we’ll visit the historic Elmina Castle, the first European fortification erected in sub-Saharan Africa. The journey continues to the village of Mesomagor, where you can enjoy a captivating performance by a bamboo orchestra.
Finally, we will return to your hotel in Elmina for dinner and a restful evening.
Day 7: Elmina to Accra
After breakfast, we will make our way back to Accra. On the route, we will stop at a local site to observe the creation of Adinkra fabrics and perhaps select a memorable souvenir.
Upon our arrival at the hotel, dinner will be served.
