Activity Details

This experience begins with a pickup from your hotel in Albufeira. Once assembled, we’ll board a minibus and travel west toward Valle de Parra, a tranquil area of the Algarve where the pace of life is leisurely.

After a brief journey of about 10 kilometers (6 miles), we’ll arrive and prepare for a 1.5-hour horseback ride. We’ll visit the stables to meet our horses and don our helmets. A quick briefing on riding safety will be provided, and if you’re an experienced rider, we’ll assist with refining your riding techniques before we venture out on the trails.

Our ride will take us along sandy paths and clay ground, where the Algarve’s unique geology showcases gentle hills and warm ochre tones. Surrounding us is Mediterranean scrubland, with reeds, rushes, and low vegetation that flourish around Lagoa dos Salgados. This wetland is alive with birds and small wildlife that we may encounter along our journey.

From several elevated points on the route, we’ll take in the panoramic views of the lagoon, a natural mirror reflecting changing colors with the light. The salty breeze, expansive vistas, and the steady rhythm of the horse create a wonderfully calming experience.

After the horseback ride, we’ll return to your hotel, concluding our adventure approximately 2.5 hours after pickup.
