Trip Overview

At the agreed time, our team will collect you from your accommodation in Alice Springs to embark on an exciting exploration of the remarkable scenery in the West MacDonnell mountain range via a rugged off-roading vehicle. Prepare yourself for an adventure!

Utilizing our all-terrain vehicle, we will navigate through challenging roads and paths. After approximately three hours of travel, we’ll pause briefly to savor a refreshing tea before resuming our exploration.

Our route will lead us down the course of the Finke River, a marvel in itself. The juxtaposition of the dry environment and the subterranean waters that nourish this arid land will leave you in awe. Subsequently, we will arrive at Palm Valley, known for its breathtaking rock formations, white sand dunes, and an oasis filled with pools and palm springs. This area is home to unique botanical marvels, including cycads and red cabbage palms, treasured as living relics of nature.

Next, we will stop by the impressive Amphitheatre rock formation, an excellent vantage point for capturing stunning photographs. Following this, we’ll take a moment to have a picnic with the snacks you have prepared for the day.

With our appetites satisfied, we will start our journey back to Alice Springs. As we travel, you can enjoy the breathtaking views of the MacDonnell Ranges during sunset, as the fading light bathes the landscape in warm colors.

After a full day of exploration, lasting around 10 to 10.5 hours, we will conclude our trip back at your hotel.
