Day Trip to Jerash, Aljoun Castle & Dead Sea
Upon gathering at the entrance of the Sulaf Luxury Hotel at the specified time, we will depart from Amman, heading towards our initial destination, Aljoun.
Upon arrival, we will delve into the history of the fortress built by Muslims in the 12th century as a defense against the Crusaders. From the castle walls of Aljoun, you will be treated to breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. Ensure you have your camera at the ready!
Our next destination is Jerash in northern Jordan, recognized for its extensive Roman ruins, earning it the title of "the Pompeii of Asia." Get ready to explore!
We will wander through this ancient city, visiting its most significant landmarks. Among these are the Triumphal Arch, the Oval Forum, the Colonnaded Street, the Temple of Aphrodite, and the Theatre. Interestingly, you will notice that the acoustics in this venue have remarkably endured for thousands of years!
Before we proceed to the next leg of our journey, you will have some leisure time at a local restaurant to savor a traditional lunch and recharge.
Following your meal, we will head to the Dead Sea. Upon reaching this unique location, you will have the opportunity to take a rejuvenating swim in the salty waters that allow for effortless floating. Additionally, the mud from the Dead Sea is renowned for its beneficial healing properties.
After enjoying your time in the water, we will commence our journey back to our starting point in Amman, with an estimated return time of 9 to 9.5 hours. We look forward to seeing you on your next adventure!
