Portage Glacier + Wildlife Conservation Center
Description
Embark on a boat journey across Portage Glacier and explore Alaska's wildlife during your visit to the local Wildlife Conservation Center.
Description
At the scheduled hour, we’ll collect you from your Anchorage hotel to head towards one of Alaska's most stunning regions.
Our adventure begins with a drive along the scenic Seward Highway, known for its winding path. As we travel, enjoy the breathtaking views of Cook Bay and the majestic peaks of Chugach State Park.
Our initial stop will be the Wildlife Conservation Center, home to bears, bald eagles, moose, caribou, and wolves. Did you know that the majority of these animals are rescues?
After our tour of the Conservation Center, we’ll proceed to Portage Glacier Lake for an amazing 1-hour boat cruise. In the summer months, you might witness massive ice chunks calving from the glacier and plunging into the lake, a striking sign of climate change.
We will then return you to your hotel, completing this enriching 5-hour experience.
