Your adventure begins with a pick-up from your accommodation in Arequipa at your preferred time. We will traverse the Uchumayo road until we arrive at the quarries of ashlar stone. Here, you will engage in a guided exploration to delve into the history and skills of the quarrymen, whose craftsmanship has been practiced for centuries.

This region's stones are known for their distinctive property: they can only be shaped manually, as any mechanical handling would lead to breakage. The quarrymen dedicate their efforts to carving these stones into ashlars that will eventually become integral to the architectural styles typical of this region of Peru. Did you know this stone is derived from the lava of the volcanoes surrounding Arequipa?

Following this insightful experience, we’ll embark on a 30-minute walk to our next stop, the Culebrillas Canyon. This stunning ravine has been sculpted by natural forces and the flow of water. During our hike, you will navigate through towering rock faces that soar between 50 feet (15 meters) to 65 feet (20 meters). Additionally, we will encounter intriguing petroglyphs over a millennium old, whose meanings remain enigmatic to this day...

After a captivating 4-hour journey, we will make our way back to the heart of Arequipa, where we will drop you off close to the Plaza de Armas.
