Embark on an exhilarating journey as you ascend the iconic volcano in southern Peru during this two-day expedition to Misti Volcano, set against stunning natural backdrops over 5800 meters high.

Misti Volcano 2 Day Adventure

Day 1: Departure from Arequipa - Misti Volcano Ascent

Your adventure begins with a hotel pick-up in Arequipa between 7:30 and 8:00 am, followed by a 4x4 drive along the Chiguata route toward the Misti Volcano. After approximately two hours, we will arrive at an elevation of 3300 meters (10800 feet), ready to commence the trek.

Upon arrival, we will initiate the ascent on foot up the slopes of the volcano. During our hike, breathtaking vistas will accompany us until we reach our designated base camp, nestled at 4800 meters (15700 feet).

After approximately six hours of hiking, we will enjoy a hearty dinner and relax at the campsite, recharging for the following day’s adventure.

Day 2: Summit Misti Volcano - Return to Arequipa

After an early wake-up call, we will savor a nourishing breakfast at the camp to prepare for the day ahead. Fuelled and ready, we'll begin our ascent to the summit of Misti Volcano.

Our goal is to reach an altitude of 5825 meters (19110 feet). Upon conquering the summit, you will have one hour of leisure time to take stunning photographs and relish the magnificent scenery from the volcano's crater—a moment sure to impress your family and friends!

We will then commence our descent back to 3300 meters, where a 4x4 vehicle will be waiting to return us to Arequipa. Arrival at your hotels is scheduled around 2 pm.

Lodging

This journey includes one night of accommodation with breakfast at the welcoming Nido de Aguilas base camp.

Eligibility

Participants should be aware that this trek demands a good level of physical fitness due to the challenging terrain.

Pick-Up Details

Hotel pick-up is available for accommodations located within a one-kilometer radius from Plaza de Armas in Arequipa. If your lodging is located outside this radius, you will need to proceed to the designated meeting point at Plaza de Armas at the specified time.
