Experience an exhilarating day sandboarding in the stunning La Joya desert, sliding down expansive white dunes set within the picturesque surroundings of Arequipa.

Sandboarding in La Joya Desert

Your adventure begins with a pickup from your hotel in Arequipa at 2 pm, followed by a drive of about an hour and a half to the La Joya Desert. Upon arrival, we will equip you with all the gear necessary to embark on your dune surfing journey.

The dunes in this area range from 15 ft to 230 ft in height, ensuring that everyone, regardless of experience or age, can participate. We will kick off with the smaller dunes to familiarize ourselves with the art of sandboarding. Once you've gained some confidence, a 4x4 vehicle will transport us to the towering dunes, providing a memorable adventure.

After exploring the desert, you will enjoy some free time to zip down various slopes with your sandboard. Following your thrilling rides down the white dunes, we will take a break to recharge with a refreshing drink and a snack.

The day concludes with our return to Arequipa, where we’ll drop you off at your hotel by approximately 5 pm.

Hotel Pickup

Pickup is available from hotels within a 1 km radius of Plaza de Armas in Arequipa. If your accommodation is located outside this perimeter, you will need to meet at the designated point in Plaza de Armas at the scheduled time.
