Description

Considering a safari adventure near Arusha? Experience the wonders of Lake Manyara National Park aboard a 4x4 vehicle guided by an English-speaking expert, and traverse through the village of Mto Wa Mbu for an authentic glimpse into traditional Tanzanian culture.

Lake Manyara Safari

We will begin by picking you up from your hotel in Arusha before journeying towards our first destination: the vibrant village of Mto Wa Mbu. Here, you'll delve into the rich tapestry of Tanzanian culture, as this locale is home to approximately 120 diverse tribes.

This region thrives on agriculture, focusing primarily on rice and bananas, along with cattle farming, so you'll often spot cows roaming freely near homes. The streets of this settlement are brimming with food stalls and local artists showcasing their paintings.

After exploring Mto Wa Mbu, we’ll re-enter the 4x4 and head towards Lake Manyara National Park. Recognized as a Biosphere Reserve since 1981, this park is renowned for its diverse ecosystems, which include semi-arid regions, wetlands, and lush forests of acacia and baobab trees.

Within the confines of the park, you'll encounter an array of wildlife: from elephants and crocodiles to giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, and baboons, as well as an impressive count of 400 bird species. A particular highlight for many visitors is the presence of the King of the Jungle; lions are known to ascend trees, where they spend considerable time surveying their surroundings. Curious about their climbing behavior? The guide will share intriguing insights during your exploration!

As the day draws to a close, we'll regroup at the vehicles and return you to your hotel in Arusha.
