Asheville Ghost Tour
Description
If you've ever been curious about the mysteries that unfold at night, this Asheville Ghost Tour offers an enlightening experience. Delve into the chilling folklore of North Carolina and explore an ancient cemetery!
Description
Kick off this spine-tingling adventure at the designated time, gathering at Riverside Cemetery, 53 Birch Street Asheville. This tour is unique as it's the only ghost tour in the city that includes a visit to a cemetery, setting a perfect tone for the eerie journey ahead. Ghost enthusiasts, it's time to embark on this journey!
As we wander through the Riverside Cemetery, you might feel a chill or two while listening to chilling stories. We will explore the lives of renowned authors interred in this sacred ground, some of whom are said to linger on, haunting those who walk within the graveyard. Noteworthy writers such as Thomas Wolfe and William Sydney Porter are among the souls resting here.
Following this, our ghostly excursion continues through Asheville, where we will uncover the dark tale of Will Harris, a notorious mass murderer from 1906 whose rampage shook the community. We’ll also have an opportunity to visit the receiving vault and, if fortune smiles upon us, perhaps even pose for a photo with the specters of some German Prisoners of War (POWs). Are you feeling the unease yet?
Next, we will reflect on the life and tragic end of Zelda Fitzgerald, who perished in the Highland Hospital fire in 1948. At the historic Grove Park Inn, tales of the benevolent spirit known as the Pink Lady will come to life. She is believed to roam the halls since her fate took a dire turn in the 1920s after a fall from a balcony. Additional stories will include those of the spirits at Riverside and the specters at Erwin's pauper graves.
As we move forward, we will unveil the dark events associated with the murder hotel and the family gatherings at the Basilica of St. Lawrence, alongside the mysteries surrounding the Brown Mountain Lights, phenomena that have puzzled scientists for ages.
After an hour of exploration, our Asheville Ghost Tour will conclude, leaving you with lingering thoughts and stories until our paths cross again!
