San Bernardino Day Trip

On the day of your adventure, you'll be collected from your Asunción hotel for a scenic drive to San Bernardino, a charming town located by the shores of Ypacaraí Lake. As we journey, take in the stunning views of the Cordillera Department's verdant and rugged scenery, passing through quaint villages where traditional crafts remain a staple of daily life.

After approximately 50 minutes of travel, we will arrive in San Bernardino, one of Paraguay's most favored summer escapes. This area is home to several artists and affluent individuals who occupy their summer residences here.

To kick off the day, we will make our way to Ypacaraí Lake for a delightful boat ride, during which you will learn about the area’s rich history and unique geography. Keep an eye out for the distinguished Hotel del Lago, a historic 19th-century establishment that has welcomed dignitaries including Franklin D. Roosevelt and Charles de Gaulle. We’ll enjoy a traditional lunch at the hotel before embarking on a tour to appreciate its sophisticated design and decor.

Following lunch, a guided tour of San Bernardino awaits us. We’ll stroll through its streets, parks, and key structures, culminating our experience with a visit to La Alemana, a shop renowned for its delicious buns. You'll have some leisure time here to savor one of these delightful snacks, should you wish to.

After an enriching 6 hours, we will return to Asunción, where you will be dropped off at your hotel.
