At the designated hour, we will gather in Athens and commence our journey towards Cape Sounion. During the ride, an audio guide will provide a wealth of captivating insights regarding this iconic destination in the Attica region.

Cape Sounion holds a significant place in Greek heritage. According to myth, it is here that Aegeus took his own life, believing that his son Theseus had perished. This tragedy is the origin of the name Aegean Sea.

Upon arrival, take the opportunity to explore the renowned Temple of Poseidon at your leisure—a magnificent edifice from the 5th century B.C that epitomizes Classical Antiquity. You'll be awed by its towering columns, each standing over 6 meters (20 feet) high! Interestingly, these columns were designed to combat air erosion, and with a keen eye, you might spot an engraving left by the esteemed poet Lord Byron.

As dusk approaches, we will gather at Cape Sounion to witness one of the most stunning sunsets in Greece.

Following this picturesque moment, we will board the bus for our return to Athens, with an anticipated arrival back at the meeting point four hours post-departure.

During the booking phase, you have the option to include tickets for entry to the Temple of Poseidon. On the day of the visit, your guide will present you with these tickets. Alternatively, you may choose to purchase them on-site if desired.
