Austin Free Walking Tour
Description
Embark on a journey through Texas's capital with our complimentary tour of Austin, featuring renowned sites like the Capitol and Saint Mary’s Cathedral. This is a chance you won't want to overlook!
Tour Overview
Welcome to Texas's heart! Our complimentary tour of Austin commences at the scheduled time from the Visitors Center.
We begin our adventure at the renowned Driskill Hotel, which boasts a captivating history. Following that, we will stroll towards the majestic Capitol, a pivotal site of the Texas state government. Are you aware of the height of its stunning dome? We'll uncover that shortly!
As we reach Capitol Square, we will admire limestone government buildings dating back to the 1850s, along with more elaborate architectural styles from the early 1900s. Next, we'll make a stop just outside the Texas Governor’s Mansion, one of the most remarkable homes in this area of the city.
Continuing on, we'll pass the Old Bakery and Emporium, a fantastic spot to delve into local history and art. Our path will lead us alongside Saint Mary’s Cathedral, a Neo-Gothic Catholic church established in the latter half of the 19th century.
After approximately 2 hours, we will wrap up this complimentary tour of Texas by returning to our original meeting point.
Groups of Considerable Size
Please note that our free tour does not accept reservations for groups exceeding 6 participants, even if separate bookings are made. For larger parties, we advise considering a private tour of Austin.
