Throughout the tour, we will gain knowledge about the "marnotos", the skilled individuals who manually harvest salt using traditional wooden tools, as well as the "salineiras", who carry the harvested salt in wicker baskets to the boats. These professions are so fundamental to Aveiro that there are two statues honoring them located right in the city's heart.

Moreover, we will explore the health benefits of salt and its applications across various industries, including cosmetics and gastronomy. We will also examine how this unique ecosystem has developed, along with the species of wildlife and plant life that flourish in this setting.
