Cangallo Falls Hiking Tour
Description
Join us on a captivating hiking excursion to the enchanting waterfalls of Cangallo, where we will explore Pumapaqcha, Batán, and Qorimaqma—three stunning sites steeped in local legends.
Cangallo Waterfall Hiking Adventure
Our journey begins at 7:50 am when we gather at the Plaza de Armas. From there, we will proceed southward from Ayacucho towards the mystical Cangallo waterfalls.
We will follow the "Route of the Cangallo Falls", an intriguing pathway that meanders through these famed waterfalls, once revered by the Indigenous people for their ceremonial offerings to the deities. Legends say these waters hold magical qualities and are infused with positive energies.
Our hiking experience will commence with a trek to the remarkable Pumapaqcha waterfall, recognized as one of the most breathtaking in this region. This portion of the hike will last approximately 40 minutes round trip. Next, we will venture towards the Batán and Qorimaqma waterfalls, which are fed by the Chankil and Macromayo rivers. This segment will take around 1.5 hours to complete.
After our explorations, a bus will be waiting to transport us to the Huahuapuquio thermal pool, where you can enjoy a revitalizing dip in its mineral-rich hot springs. You'll have some free time to relax and have lunch, as there is a restaurant located by the pool.
Before concluding our day, we'll make a brief stop in the town of Cangallo, known as the "City of Heroes and Heroines." We anticipate returning to our original meeting point in Ayacucho around 8 pm.
