Vilcashuamán and Pumacocha Full-Day Excursion

The journey begins at 8 am in the Plaza Mayor of Ayacucho, where we will board our transport and begin our adventure by visiting the stunning Puyas de Raimondi, also affectionately known as the "queen of the Andes".

Next, we will proceed to the Pumacocha Archaeological Complex, where the remains of an important Inca rest area for nobility can be explored. Here, we will view the impressive tower, the Intihuatana sundial, and the foundations of the ancient palace.

Following this exploration, we will pause for a short break to allow you to enjoy a meal. After lunch, our next destination is the Vilcashuamán Archaeological Complex, which served as a key administrative hub during Inca times.

Within the complex, the trapezoidal plaza stands out, capable of accommodating up to 20,000 individuals. To the south of this plaza lies the historical Temple of the Sun. Interestingly, the 16th-century church of San Juan Bautista was constructed atop this ancient temple.

We will conclude our day by returning to Ayacucho, with an estimated arrival time of around 8 pm.
