After this, a 45-minute panoramic tour of Baku from Upland Park will reveal the city’s iconic landmarks, leading us to the historical Icheri Sheher. Known as the Inner City, this remarkable area will be explored over approximately three hours, featuring the Maiden Tower, the Shirvanshah Palace, Fountain Square, and the scenic walkways along the Caspian Sea.

We'll conclude the day by returning you to your hotel in Baku.

Day 3: Shamaki and Shaki

After a hearty breakfast, we'll begin our journey to Shamaki, which will take around 2.5 hours. Here, a 1.5-hour visit will allow us to explore significant sites on the Silk Road, including the exquisite Yeddi Gumbez and Diri Baba mausoleums, constructed in the early 18th century for the last Khan's family in the region.

Next, you will have an hour to enjoy lunch independently before we head to Shaki for another 2.5-hour drive. Once there, we will spend 1.5 hours visiting the alluring Khan's Palace, celebrated for its Venetian stained glass and 18th-century frescoes. Shaki was renowned as a silk production hub for two decades, a fascinating fact you won’t want to miss!

Your stay will be at a hotel in Shaki, where you can relax until the next day.

Day 4: Direction to Lagodekhi and Beyond

Our day begins with breakfast at the hotel, followed by our journey to Lagodekhi, the border with Georgia. Expect a 2-hour trip before we swap guides and drivers, then proceed to the Gremi architectural complex. A 45-minute visit will be conducted before we move to Alaverdi Cathedral, just 15 minutes away. You’ll have an hour to enjoy lunch in the town before spending another half hour exploring the cathedral grounds, dating back to the 6th century, with its current structure from the 11th century.

After a 30-minute stop, we will continue on our way to arrive in Telavi, where we will spend the night.

Day 5: Exploring Telavi, Sighnaghi, and Tbilisi

Following a delightful breakfast, we will head to the museum village of Tsinandali, just 30 minutes away. You’ll have an hour to explore this former estate of the Dukes of Georgia, complete with a picturesque English garden and a wine cellar that belonged to the 19th-century poet and public figure Prince Chavchavadze.

Next, we will travel to Sighnaghi in half an hour. Here, enjoy 1.5 hours exploring the stunning landscapes of the Alazani Valley, characterized by charming pastel houses and narrow cobbled streets—a stunning representation of the Caucasus.

Don’t forget to visit Bodbe Monastery before your lunch at a local restaurant on your own. Our journey will culminate with a 2.5-hour drive to Tbilisi, where we’ll be staying for the next three nights.

Day 6: Discovering Tbilisi

Our sixth day is dedicated to exploring Tbilisi. After breakfast, we’ll set off on a 3.5-hour guided tour of this vibrant city. We’ll visit the historic centre, learning about its rich history, where an Orthodox church, a Catholic church, a synagogue, and a mosque coexist harmoniously—an impressive sight!

During the tour, highlights will include Metekhi Church, Narikala Fortress, and the famous sulphur baths, along with stops at the Juma Mosque and the Great Synagogue. A stroll through the craft market will allow you to appreciate local artisans and their distinctive creations.

The afternoon will be free for you to indulge in local cuisine and discover the city further. Your night will conclude at a hotel in Tbilisi.

Starting with breakfast at the hotel, we’ll journey to Jvari in an hour. Here, enjoy a 45-minute visit to the Jvari Monastery, where stunning panoramic views of the merging Aragvi and Kura rivers await you.

We’ll then proceed to Uplistsikhe, an ancient rock-carved city approximately 30 minutes away. Its historic passageways, temples, and scenic overlooks will transport us back to the era of vibrant trade routes and civilizations.

After a visit of about an hour and fifteen minutes, we’ll pause for photographs and enjoy a 30-minute lunch in Gori, the birthplace of Stalin. Following this, we will travel for 2 hours to Mtskheta, an ancient Georgian capital and spiritual centre recognized as a World Heritage Site. Here, we will explore Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, known as the 'pillar of life.'

The day will conclude with your return to the hotel in Tbilisi.

Day 8: Transition to Armenia – Haghpat, Sevan, and Yerevan

We start our day with breakfast at the hotel and a change in guides and transportation as we depart Georgia and enter Armenia. Our first destination is the Haghpat Monastery, a mere three-hour drive away, where you’ll have an hour to admire its architectural wonders, once home to an impressive collection of manuscripts until the 13th century.

Following a 30-minute lunch break, we’ll continue towards Dilijan, a two-hour journey that will allow you a brief 30-minute exploration of its charming narrow streets. Afterwards, we’ll make our way to Lake Sevan, which covers 5% of Armenia's surface and stands as one of the highest freshwater lakes in the world, located more than 2,000 m (6,561 ft) above sea level.

We'll conclude our day with a visit to the Sevanavank monastery on Lake Sevan's shores before heading to our hotel in Yerevan.

Day 9: Discovering Echmiadzin and Zvartnots

Your next day starts with breakfast before our half-hour drive to Echmiadzin, the sacred city of Armenia and seat of the Catholicos, the head of the Apostolic Church. Over a span of three hours, we’ll explore its cathedral and the ruins of the Zvartnots temple, a magnificent example of 7th-century architecture that has garnered UNESCO World Heritage status—truly a sight to behold!

After an hour for lunch, we’ll return to Yerevan to visit the Memorial Park and Museum of the Victims of the Genocide, Tsitsernakaberd. Here you’ll spend an hour immersed in the poignant atmosphere dominated by an immense concrete spire and 12 sloping slabs symbolizing the lost provinces of Armenia.

Rounding off the day, we'll take you to the Vernissage market, where you can peruse various handicrafts for an hour. Your evening will finish at your hotel in Yerevan.

Day 10: A Day in Yerevan

Following breakfast at the hotel, your day will be filled with visits to Yerevan’s most iconic sites, revered as the "pink city" due to the hue of its buildings.

Your morning will start with a 1.5-hour visit to the Matenadaran, a notable museum housing invaluable ancient manuscripts. Subsequently, a 4-hour city tour will showcase the captivating architecture of Republic Square, where Soviet influences are evident alongside the hustle of daily life. We will then stroll along Mashtots Avenue, one of the city’s oldest streets, moving towards the cultural landmark known as the Opera and Ballet Theatre, before arriving at the monumental Cascade, home to the Cafesjian Art Centre.

The tour continues with a visit to the fruit market, where the vibrant local aromas and colors await. You’ll then have an hour of free time to enjoy lunch. Finally, we’ll explore the History Museum for a comprehensive hour-long guided tour that delves into the nation's rich history.

Your day will culminate with a return to your hotel in Yerevan for a well-deserved rest.
