Aillwee Cave Tour + Burren Birds of Prey Centre
Description
With this tour of the Aillwee Cave, you'll discover one of the most important geological treasures of Ireland and see a Burren Birds of Prey show. Plus, you'll taste the region's typical cheese and fudge. What a complete experience!
Tour Details
At the designated time, we'll meet at the entrance of the Aillwee Burren Experience, a magical place that will amaze you. Once we're all gathered, we'll set off to the Aillwee Cave, one of the oldest caves in Ireland. Ready? Let's go!
For 45 minutes, we'll go on a tour of this cave, enjoying its surprising underground landscapes, which will take us back in time to see how the wild nature of the Atlantic has evolved through the centuries. Located in the heart of the state of Clare, the Aillwee Cave houses different galleries, bridges, fascinating formations, and even a frozen waterfall and the bones of the extinct brown bear.
After the cave tour, we’ll head outside to the Burren Birds of Prey Centre, where you can attend a show lasting 45 minutes. In this exhibition, you'll learn about these fascinating animals, their way of life, and interesting facts about their species. It's an unforgettable moment for the entire family!
You can also take the opportunity to explore the centre at your own pace and enjoy strolling around the area's forests of holly, ash, and hazelnut trees.
To conclude the experience, we recommend visiting the farm's store, where cheese from Burren is made, a culinary specialty that you shouldn't miss. You can enjoy a cheese tasting! Additionally, a fudge tasting will also be included, featuring the most typical desserts of the area.
After 2.5 hours of exploring the Aillwee Burren Experience, we'll say our goodbyes and conclude the activity.
