Tour of Grand Palace + Wat Phra Kaew
Description
This guided experience will take you through two of the most iconic sites in Bangkok: the magnificent Grand Palace, the official residence of the Thai monarchy, and the Wat Phra Kaew, which houses the revered Emerald Buddha.
Exploration of the Grand Palace and Wat Phra Kaew
During your chosen time slot upon reservation, we will gather at the Golden Place to begin the exploration of these remarkable attractions, renowned not only for their historical significance but also for their stunning architectural beauty characteristic of Thailand.
Upon entering the intricate complex, our 2-hour guided journey of this remarkable site will commence. It’s fascinating to note that many of the country’s ceremonial events are celebrated here, with notable figures like Bill Clinton and Pope John Paul II having visited these grounds.
As we stroll through the expansive residence of the royal family, we'll take a moment to observe the striking statues, detailed artwork, and historically significant locations peppered throughout the area.
Our next stop will be at the temple of the Emerald Buddha or Wat Phra Kaew, which is also situated within the Grand Palace grounds. Here, you will encounter the most sacred religious artifact for the Thai population, a sculpture skillfully carved from a single block of green jade adorned with golden robes. The temple's surrounding scenery adds to its captivating allure.
After approximately 2.5 hours of discovery with our knowledgeable guide, the tour will come to a close.
