Tour Details

Your day will begin with a pick-up from your hotel in Barahona at the scheduled time as we embark on an excursion to Lake Enriquillo, recognized as the largest lake in the Caribbean. This lake carries the name of Enriquillo, a renowned Taíno leader who served as the cacique of Bahoruco.

During the drive, you'll be treated to stunning vistas of this region of the Dominican Republic and we will pause at a scenic viewpoint for memorable photographs.

Upon reaching the lake, our exploration will commence aboard a speedboat, inviting you to discover this unique locale, distinguished as the only body of water in the area positioned more than 40 meters (131 feet) below sea level. We will proceed to visit a shore area where the crocodiles inhabit. A truly spectacular sight!

Before concluding our journey, we will make a brief stop in Neyba, famously known as the city of grapes due to its significant annual grape harvest. You'll have 1 hour of free time to unwind and savor some authentic Dominican cuisine.

Next, we will head to Las Marías, a picturesque public bathing area where you will have approximately 1 hour to discover this breathtaking setting at your leisure.

After a fulfilling 8 hours of exploration, we will return to your hotel in Barahona to bid you farewell. We hope to see you again soon!

Crocodile Sightings

Crocodiles inhabit Lake Enriquillo in relative abundance. Nonetheless, due to the unpredictable nature of wildlife, we cannot assure you of the number of crocodiles you may encounter during the trip.
