Description
Experience the grandeur of the world's largest modernist complex by exploring the Sant Pau Art Nouveau Site, expertly designed by celebrated architect Lluís Domènech i Montaner.
Sant Pau Art Nouveau Site Ticket
Catalan modernism encompasses much more than the works of Gaudí. By securing this ticket, you'll immerse yourself in one of the pivotal examples of this architectural style in Barcelona: the Sant Pau Art Nouveau Site.
This extraordinary creation of Lluís Domènech i Montaner features a collection of buildings set amidst stunning green areas, all interconnected by subterranean passages.
The site boasts an exquisite combination of mosaics, colorful tiles, domes, and serene gardens, rendering it a remarkable architectural treasure that earned the designation of UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1997.
Originally constructed to serve as a hospital in the early 20th century, your visit to the Sant Pau Art Nouveau Site will transport you back in time to experience the workings of a Barcelona hospital in the 1920s. You will traverse various areas, including the Hypostyle Hall, the Sant Salvador Pavilion, and the Sant Rafael Pavilion, which features an exhibition focused on surgical practices.
Your journey would not be complete without a stroll through the magnificent gardens, allowing you to appreciate the harmonious relationship between nature and modernist architecture!
The exploration culminates at the Administration Pavilion, one of the most elaborately adorned spaces, showcasing stained glass details, exquisite mosaics, and stunning sculptures - a true highlight of the visit!
