Puglia 6 Day Tour

Day 1: Bari

Your adventure begins with a pickup from the Bari airport, followed by a transfer to a centrally located hotel within the city. Take the rest of the day to relax and acclimatize.

Day 2: Bari

After enjoying breakfast at the hotel, we will delve into the historic core of Puglia's capital. Strolling through its charming narrow alleys, we will arrive at the iconic San Nicola Basilica and the ancient Normanno-Svevo Castle, erected in the 12th century by King Roger II and later modified by Frederick II. The castle offers breathtaking views over Bari.

Our exploration will continue through Piazza Mercantile to see the ancient Column of Justice. The day will come to a close with dinner before returning to the hotel.

Day 3: Bari - Trani - Castel del Monte - Alberobello

Following breakfast, we will set off by bus to Trani, a medieval city celebrated as the "Pearl of Puglia." Here, we'll explore the historic Jewish quarter and its breathtaking cathedral built of white stone. In the afternoon, our journey takes us to Castel del Monte, a captivating fortress renowned for its unique design and mysterious past.

Continuing to Alberobello, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site for its trulli (14th-century whitewashed stone huts with cone-shaped roofs), you will feel transported into a storybook setting. As dusk falls, we'll spend the night enjoying dinner in a traditional "trullo."

Day 4: Alberobello - Matera - Alberobello

Our fourth day begins with a trip to Matera, renowned for its fascinating architecture of the "sassi di Matera." These ancient cave dwellings, inhabited for over 9,000 years, are a sight to behold. A visit to the Romanesque Cathedral will allow you to admire panoramic views of the "sassi." Later, we will return to Alberobello for the evening.

Day 5: Alberobello - Locorotondo - Ostuni - Lecce

On day five, we will visit two picturesque villages. First, we will explore Locorotondo, allowing you some free time to wander this lovely "white city" in Puglia.

Next, we will proceed to Ostuni, which overlooks the coastal landscape amidst centuries-old olive groves. Here you can enjoy the local ambiance and taste regional products, including olive oil.

Later, we'll continue our journey to Lecce, where we will enjoy dinner and spend the night.

Day 6: Lecce - Otranto - Lecce

After breakfast, we will embark on a guided tour of Lecce, nestled in the heart of the Salento region. Our exploration through the historical center will reveal significant landmarks such as the 12th-century Cathedral, the Santa Cruz Basilica, and the captivating Duomo Square.

Next, we will head to Otranto, where you'll have the chance to explore its diverse historical background at your own pace, including remnants from Greek, Roman, and Turkish eras. Don't miss the opportunity to step inside the cathedral to appreciate its exquisite mosaics, comparable in splendor to those found in Ravenna. In the evening, we will make our way to Supersano for a delightful dinner at the "Masseria le Stanzie." Afterwards, we'll return to Lecce.

Day 7: Lecce - Monopoli - Bari

Following breakfast, our route back to Bari will take us through the Altopiano delle Murge. We will pause in Martina Franca, an exquisite Baroque town, complete with its enchanting Piazza Plesicito and the stunning Palazzo Ducale, allowing you some leisure time to explore. Continuing our journey, we will proceed to the Itria Valley and eventually reach Masseria Montenapoleone, where you'll partake in a cooking lesson to create fresh pasta varieties such as orecchiette, cavatelli, and strascinate. Lunch will consist of our homemade pasta and other local delicacies. In the afternoon, our adventure takes us to Monopoli, with its fortified charm and narrow streets, famous as the departure point for the Crusaders. Later, we will make our way back to Bari for the night.

Day 8: Bari

After breakfast at the hotel, you will have free time until your transfer back to the Bari Airport.
