Excursion to Cerro Catedral
Departing from San Carlos de Bariloche at the scheduled time, we will journey towards Villa Catedral. During the approximately 40-minute ride, our knowledgeable guide will share insights about the various activities available in this mountainous region of Argentina, a true haven for nature lovers.
Once we arrive, you will have ample free time to explore Villa Catedral at your own pace. Nestled at the base of the renowned Cerro Catedral, this quaint town offers stunning views of its towering peak, which rises to around 7670 feet (2338 meters) above sea level, featuring spectacular sharp summits.
Situated within the Nahuel Huapi National Park, Cerro Catedral is acknowledged as the premier ski resort in the southern hemisphere. Visitors can opt for the chairlift (not included in the ticket price) to ascend the mountain and enjoy breathtaking vistas of the towering ranges and Lake Gutiérrez. From the summit, you can also take in sights of Cerro Tronador and the majestic Puntiagudo Volcano in Chile.
For enthusiasts of mountain sports and activities, both skiing and snowboarding await on the slopes of Cerro Catedral. The region is equally well-suited for hiking and mountain biking, ensuring there are countless ways to experience this stunning natural setting.
After the day's adventures, we will reconvene in Villa Catedral to return to San Carlos de Bariloche, where we will conclude our time together.
Choose Your Adventure
While making your reservation, you can select from the following options:
- 4-hour trip: this option provides you with roughly 3 hours of free time at Cerro Catedral.
- 8-hour trip: this option allows for about 7 hours of leisure time to enjoy Cerro Catedral.
Transportation from Hotels
No matter which option you select, a pickup service from accommodations in the central area of Bariloche is included. For those staying outside the center, an alternative meeting point will be communicated upon completion of your booking.
Chairlift Information
The Cerro Catedral chairlift ride is an optional add-on, and the entrance fee is not part of the day's excursion cost. Please keep in mind that adverse weather conditions or other factors may affect the chairlift's availability.

Important information
This activity includes a pickup service from hotels in the centre of Bariloche at the indicated time. We recommend being in the hotel lobby at least 10 minutes in advance. If your hotel is located elsewhere, you must make your own way to the meeting point at 398 San Martín Street in San Carlos de Bariloche. Please arrive at least 10 minutes before the scheduled pickup time.
During the winter months, it is important to wear clothing and footwear that is appropriate for the snow. During the rest of the year we recommend comfortable clothing and footwear.
The Cerro Catedral chairlift ride is optional, and the entrance fee is not included in the day trip price. Please note that due to inclement weather or other circumstances, the chairlift may not always be in operation.
