Description

Join us at the Tourism Information Office located in Civic Center Plaza as we embark on a journey through Patagonia's fascinating past.

During this Bariloche adventure, we will reveal the engaging history of this Argentine region by exploring the captivating narratives of its pre-colonial societies. The tour will introduce us to the Canoeros, the Mapuches, and the Patagonians, each contributing to the rich tapestry of the area's pre-Hispanic heritage.

What did these native peoples experience, and which traditions guided their existence? Can we trace their ancestral influences in contemporary life? We will address these intriguing inquiries as we traverse Bariloche, following the paths of these extraordinary civilizations. The journey begins at the Civic Center, leading us to the tranquil waters of Lake Nahuel Huapi, a pivotal site in the evolution of these cultures. Here, we will examine their artistic sculptures and uncover their meanings, deepening our appreciation for their legacy.

Our next stop will be the Church of Nuestra Señora del Nahuel Huapi, where we will explore the relationship between the indigenous communities of Patagonia and the Catholic Church. Following this, we will visit the Museum of Patagonia, which proudly displays an impressive array of artifacts from the cultures of the Patagonians, Mapuches, and canoeists. For those interested, there will be an opportunity to enter the museum with our guide to closely examine these historical items.

As our insightful tour concludes, we will return to our starting point after an enriching hour and a half filled with historical exploration.
