Bocas de Ceniza Day Trip
Your journey begins with a convenient pickup from your accommodation in Barranquilla at the scheduled time, after which we will proceed northwards to the Las Flores district.
Upon arrival, you will board a scenic tourist train that travels for approximately 2 kilometers (1.2 miles) through the picturesque landscapes of Puerto Mocho. As you ride along, take in the breathtaking views that this region is renowned for, situated at the convergence of the river and the Caribbean Sea. Are you curious about the origin of its name?
Following the train excursion, our adventure will continue to Bocas de Ceniza, a prominent and historic location in Barranquilla. Here, we will stroll to the precise junction where the river meets the sea, witnessing the stunning visual contrast between the two bodies of water: a deep blue on one side and a rich brown on the other. Truly breathtaking!
Additionally, we will appreciate the remarkable structure constructed in 1936 aimed at directing the flow of Colombia's longest river, recognized as one of the most significant engineering achievements in the nation.
