Details of the Day Trip

We'll convene at the designated spot where Luis A. Martínez meets 12 de Noviembre. From there, a vehicle will transport us into the heart of the Amazon rainforest in Ecuador.

Our journey includes traversing the renowned Ruta de las Cascadas, culminating in our first stop at the Mira Mera viewpoint after roughly an hour’s drive. This scenic overlook offers stunning views of the canton inviting you to the Amazon region—you'll certainly appreciate the breathtaking scenery!

Next, we'll transition to a canoe for a 20-minute ride along the river. Upon arrival at our destination, a delicious lunch featuring chicken, meat, or vegetables will be waiting—an ideal meal to rejuvenate us!

The afternoon itinerary includes a 1-hour guided walk into the jungle. Our guide will elaborate on the medicinal uses of local plants and trees. Upon concluding our trek, we will reach the Hola Vida waterfall, an inviting spot for a refreshing swim in its crystal-clear waters. Remember to pack your swimsuit!

Our next stop will introduce us to the Coto Cocha indigenous community. Here, you can partake in a traditional dance, learn how to use a blowgun, and explore the handicraft museum, a perfect opportunity to purchase unique handmade items.

To wrap up the day, we will head to the Indichuris viewpoint. Amidst lianas, hammocks, and swings, with the stunning Pastaza River as a backdrop, we will witness one of the jungle's most magical sunsets.

Before returning to Baños de Agua Santa, we will also visit a local household where you'll observe the process of making organic chocolate.

Our adventure concludes as we head back to the city, marking the end of a remarkable 12-hour journey.

Details of the 2-Day Trip

If you wish to experience a night in the rainforest, consider opting for the 2-day journey. After enjoying the sunset at Indichuris, we will return to the Coto Cocha community to stay in cabins.

Upon arrival, dinner will be served, followed by a night walk—a rare chance to observe the Amazonian flora and fauna illuminated by the stars. We'll return to the cabins afterward for a restorative night's sleep.

The following day will commence with a traditional Eastern Ecuadorian breakfast, the perfect fuel for a day filled with adventures! Once energized, we'll embark on a hike to the Escondida waterfall, a concealed gem within the foliage. You'll have the opportunity to unwind and soak in the ambiance of nature.

After revitalizing at the waterfall, we will visit a local home to learn about the artisanal process of organic chocolate making, from cocoa harvesting all the way to the final product.

Following this, we’ll return to the community for a delightful lunch. Afterwards, you'll have some time to unwind before we commence our journey back to Baños de Agua Santa, arriving between 8 and 9 pm.
