China Tour Package: 12 Days

Day 1: Arrival in Beijing

Upon landing at the Beijing airport, a guide will meet you with a sign featuring your name. You will be escorted to your hotel, where you will stay for three nights. After check-in, the remainder of the day is at your leisure.

Day 2: Explore Beijing

Following breakfast, embark on a journey through the city’s historic core to see its most significant sites, including Tiananmen Square, recognized as the largest square globally for major political gatherings. Continue your exploration at the Forbidden City, the grand Imperial Palace that housed Chinese Emperors until 1911.

At 12:30 PM, enjoy a meal at a local restaurant showcasing traditional Pekingese cuisine. The tour proceeds to the renowned Hutongs, remnants from the Yuan Ming and Qing dynasties. Before returning to your hotel, visit Jingshan Park for panoramic views of the Forbidden City.

Return to the hotel around 5:30 PM, leaving you with the evening free.

Day 3: The Great Wall of China

This day is dedicated to experiencing one of China’s historical treasures: the Great Wall of China. After breakfast, set out for the outskirts of Beijing.

At the Mutianyu entrance, board a cable car for breathtaking views of this Seven Modern Wonders of the World. Fascinating fact: the wall stretches over 6,000 kilometers (3,700 miles).

Lunch will be at a local restaurant around 12:30 PM before heading back to Beijing. Along the way, stop at two notable sites from the 2008 Olympic Games: the National Stadium (commonly known as the Bird's Nest) and the National Aquatics Centre (the Water Cube).

You will arrive back at the hotel by 5:30 PM.

Day 4: Beijing to Xi'an

In the morning, enjoy breakfast, then we'll take you to the Temple of Heaven in Beijing, the largest temple dedicated to Heaven in China. If the timing is right, you might witness locals practicing tai chi.

By approximately 12:30 PM, head to the railway station in Beijing to board a bullet train to Xi'an, with the journey lasting around 5 hours. Upon arrival, a guide will be ready to facilitate your transfer to your hotel. The remainder of the day is yours for personal exploration.

Day 5: Terracotta Warriors in Xi'an

Today, delve into the history of the famed Terracotta Warriors. After breakfast, travel outside Xi'an to witness this significant archaeological site. At the Qin Shi Huang Mausoleum, explore over 8,000 life-size terracotta figures of soldiers and horses.

These remarkable sculptures, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, are arranged around three deep moats. Remarkably, the Terracotta Warriors were interred just 1.5 km from the tomb of China's first emperor from the Qin dynasty.

At 12:30 PM, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before visiting the best-preserved Bell Tower in China along with the vibrant Muslim Quarter. In the afternoon, visit the North Square of the Giant Wild Goose Pagoda, a scenic area adorned with fountains and sculptures offering stunning views.

Day 6: Xi'an

After breakfast, embark on a guided tour through Xi'an's historical center. Your first destination is the City Wall, among the oldest and longest city walls in China. Next, proceed to the Small Wild Goose Pagoda to experience a traditional performance.

At midday, we’ll stop for lunch at a local restaurant before visiting the Gao Courtyard to witness a Chinese shadow puppet show, followed by a stroll through the bustling Muslim Quarter.

Return to your hotel by 5:30 PM.

Day 7: From Xi'an to Guilin

The day begins with a transfer from your hotel to the Xi'an train station, where you will board a high-speed train to Guilin. Following a 10-hour train ride, a guide will meet you at the station with a sign displaying your name. You will be taken to your hotel, where you can unwind for the rest of the day.

Day 8: Li River Cruise from Guilin

After breakfast, meet in the hotel lobby to make your way to Guilin port, where a 4-hour boat cruise awaits along the Li River. Enjoy the captivating riverside scenery until arriving in Yangshuo for lunch onboard.

Once in Yangshuo, disembark to explore West Street, the oldest street in the region, where you’ll have an hour to wander through its shops and cafes before traveling back to Guilin.

Return to the hotel by 5:30 PM.

Day 9: Guilin to Shanghai

After a hearty breakfast, set off to visit the Elephant Trunk Hill, a significant symbol of Guilin. The origin of its name will soon be revealed! This intriguing karst rock formation juts into the Li River. Climb to the summit for impressive vistas of the surrounding nature, followed by a leisurely walk along the river and a visit to the Riyue Shuangta Cultural Park.

Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant in the afternoon, then uncover the beauty of the Reed Flute Cave, identified as one of the most stunning caves in both China and the world.

Next, you will be dropped off at the Guilin train station to catch a high-speed train to Shanghai, located over 1,500 km (932 mi) away. You will stay overnight in Shanghai.

Day 10: Arrival in Shanghai

Awaken on the train to the scenic views of eastern China and, after a 20-hour journey, arrive in Shanghai. A guide will greet you, holding your name, and help with your transfer to the hotel. You have the rest of the day free.

Day 11: Discover Shanghai

At 9:00 AM, we will pick you up from your hotel to begin a tour of Shanghai’s iconic landmarks. First, visit one of the neighborhoods renowned for traditional architecture, Shikumen. Then, explore the Yu Garden, created during the Ming dynasty.

Lunch at a local restaurant is scheduled for around 12:30 PM, followed by a visit to the Shanghai Old Street. Take a stroll along the Bund for stunning skyline views, particularly of the Oriental Pearl Tower, which you can ascend to its first and second spheres.

Later, explore the Shanghai History Museum for insights into the city’s intriguing past. By 5:30 PM, you will be returned to your hotel, leaving the evening free for personal enjoyment.

Day 12: Departure from Shanghai

After breakfast, we will transport you to Shanghai airport. The pickup time will be adjusted based on your flight schedule.

Important Information

This tour requires a flight arriving in Beijing and a flight departing from Shanghai, starting on the day of your booking and concluding twelve days later; for instance, if you arrive on a Monday, your departure will be the following Friday.

During train journeys, you will not be accompanied by a guide, but individuals will be present at each station to assist you with a sign featuring your name.

Be aware that the guide will not be present on days 4, 7, 10, and 12.

Meals Included in the Tour

This 12-day tour package includes 5 lunch meals, excluding the first, fourth, seventh, tenth, and last days. Evening meals are at your discretion.

Breakfast is included daily in the accommodation.

This 12-day package features 10 nights of hotel accommodation plus one night aboard a sleeper train between Guilin and Shanghai.

Traveling via Train from Guilin to Shanghai

• Please note that the high-speed train journey from Guilin to Shanghai includes an overnight segment.
• This tour does not provide meals during the train travel between Guilin and Shanghai.
• On the high-speed train, accommodations will be in second-class bunk beds.
