Great Wall of China Private Day Trip
Description
The Great Wall of China stands as one of the Seven Wonders of the World and a prominent emblem of the nation. This day trip invites you to traverse this historical marvel, ascend its watchtowers, and bask in the breathtaking vistas that this remarkable region of China presents.
Day Trip to the Great Wall of China
Measuring nearly 5,600 miles (9,000 km), the Great Wall comprises several segments, each offering a unique experience. During this excursion, participants can select from three distinct areas of the wall:
Badaling
This section is renowned as the most extensively restored and frequented by tourists. As a result, it can be quite crowded, making it less suitable for those seeking solitude. However, for those who enjoy a lively atmosphere and wish to witness the wall in its full splendor, this guided visit lasts for two hours.
Mutianyu
Set amidst stunning landscapes with fewer crowds, this section is highly recommended for most visitors. Well-preserved and historically significant, Mutianyu once served as a northern defense for the capital and its imperial burial sites. The tour here also spans almost 2 hours.
Simatai or Jinshanling
This segment features steeper and less restored areas, catering to those seeking a more adventurous experience. Ideal for individuals in good physical shape, this trek-style tour lasts between 2.5 to 3.5 hours, depending on the chosen path.
The Ming Tombs (Underground Palace)
For those opting to visit Badaling, a stop at the Ming Tombs (The Underground Palace) is possible on the return to Beijing. Simply inform your guide to arrange this addition to your itinerary.
