Jinshanling Great Wall Hiking Trip
Description
Discover the most secluded part of the Great Wall of China on this hiking adventure at Jinshanling, where you can explore at your own pace while immersing yourself in centuries of rich history. Are you prepared for an exciting journey?
Trip Details
At the scheduled time, we will gather at Exit C of Beijing’s Dengshikou Station and embark on our trip to the Jinshanling segment of the Great Wall. Let’s set off!
During the 2.5-hour drive, we will share insights about the history of this section of the wall, which links two parts of the Great Wall of China: Simatai to the east and Gubeikou to the west.
Upon arrival in Jinshanling, you will have the choice of two hiking routes to pursue independently. One option takes you from the East Gate to the main gate of the wall. This challenging route is tailored for those seeking a physical workout, lasting around 3.5 hours at a consistent pace. Participants will experience a climb with a 450-meter (1,476-foot) elevation gain, rewarded by breathtaking vistas of the wall in all its grandeur.
The second option starts at the main gate, offering a shorter and easier trail. This alternative, which takes between 2.5 to 3 hours at a leisurely pace, is ideal for individuals wishing to absorb the beautiful surroundings with less exertion. Along the route, you'll encounter several well-preserved watchtowers, providing fantastic photo opportunities!
After completing your hike, we will reconvene at the starting point and return to Beijing, concluding our 10.5-hour experience.
