After two hours of exploration, we will conclude our experience at the main entrance of the Temple of Heaven.
Full Tour (8 Hours)
Our adventure begins early in the morning at Tiantandongmen Station, where your guide will greet you. We will make our way to the Temple of Heaven, the largest temple complex from imperial times in China, where emperors from the Ming and Qing dynasties sought blessings for bountiful harvests. Here, we will admire the impressive Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests, an exemplary piece of ancient Chinese architectural brilliance.
Our journey will then lead us to the Lama Temple, the most significant Tibetan Buddhist monastery within Beijing. This awe-inspiring site showcases a fusion of Han and Tibetan architectural elements. Here, we can marvel at the magnificent Maitreya Buddha statue, sculpted from a single sandalwood trunk and towering at 18 meters.
Following our temple visit, we will enjoy a traditional lunch at a local restaurant, featuring a famed dish: Peking duck. Savor the flavors!
Rejuvenated, we will then visit the Summer Palace, a regal garden recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and celebrated as the "Royal Garden Museum." We will wander the paths beside Kunming Lake and appreciate the beautiful Long Corridor, embellished with painted scenes that illustrate the connection between nature and humanity.
For those interested, an optional cruise along the Imperial Canal is available. This historical waterway was once utilized by royalty to access the Summer Palace by boat. Participants who prefer not to partake in the cruise will have leisure time to further explore the palace grounds.
At the end of this enriching journey, we will part ways after a fulfilling 8-hour day trip.
