Details of the Day Excursion

At the designated time, we will collect you from your accommodation in Belgrade and embark on our adventure towards the magnificent Danube Valley.

After approximately two hours of travel alongside the Danube, we will reach the Golubac Fortress, a medieval citadel that rises sharply from the cliffs, appearing almost unattainable. From afar, its enchanting towers evoke a scene from a storybook. Ascending to one of these towers, you will be rewarded with panoramic views, including a magnificent vista of the Iron Gates of the Danube, the widest segment of the river, surrounded by stunning landscapes.

Next, we will make a stop at the eco-ethnological site known as Kapetan Mišin Breg, which offers an outstanding outlook over the Djerdap Gorge, marking the boundary between eastern Serbia and Romania.

Following this, you will have the opportunity for a leisurely lunch at nearby local eateries. Energized and revitalized, we will then set off on a 1-hour boat ride through the breathtaking Iron Gates Gorge, a spectacular section of the Danube as it carves its way through Serbia.

After our boat ride, we will visit the Tabula Traiana, a Roman inscription that honors the industrious achievement of Emperor Trajan, who constructed a road across the challenging terrain of the gorge.

Our enriching journey will conclude as we transport you back to your hotel, completing the experience approximately 12 hours later.

This tour includes hotel pickup within a 5 kilometers (3 miles) radius from Republic Square in Belgrade. For those located outside this area, we will arrange a meeting at Students' Square at the designated time.
