Granada Day Trip + Alhambra Tour
Description
Discover why the Alhambra in Granada is one of Spain's most popular monuments with this day trip from Benalmadena. Delve deep into its legendary Arab history!
Description
At the indicated time, we'll meet at the meeting point of your choice and leave Benalmadena behind toward Granada. As we drive through the stunning mountainous Malaga countryside, we'll make a stop halfway to have some breakfast.
Once in Granada, we'll give you 2 free hours to explore the city. You can take the opportunity to visit the Cathedral, stroll through Arab neighborhoods, such as the Albaicin, and walk down the Paseo de los Tristes to enjoy panoramic views of the Alhambra.
Then, once we've gathered again, we'll head to the Alhambra together. Did you know that it's one of the most visited monuments in Spain? We'll spend 3 hours touring the iconic palace-complex, visiting sections such as the Palace of Carlos V, the Alcazaba, the Generalife and its gardens.
During our tour, we'll learn about the fascinating history of the Muslim caliphs and emirs who ruled these lands until the Catholic Monarchs' Reconquista in 1492. We'll see how the Alhambra's design still preserves the authentic Al-Andalus essence and why it has been declared a World Heritage Site.
Finally, we'll return to the vehicle and head back to Benalmádena, arriving after 10 hours of excursion.
Alhambra with Nasrid Palaces
If you want a truly complete visit to the Alhambra, you can opt to also tour the Nasrid Palaces. With this option, you'll see other emblematic areas of the Alhambra, such as the Courtyard of the Lions or the Palace of Comares. The only area we will not visit in this option is the Alcazaba.
Itinerary changes
Sometimes the itinerary could be reversed, i.e. we'll visit the Alhambra complex first, and then we'll leave you free time in the center of Granada.
