Private Excursion to Balapitiya and Kosgoda Turtle Hatchery
Your adventure begins at 8:30 am with pickup from your accommodation in Bentota, from where we will head towards Balapitiya, located just 9 miles away.
Upon arrival, you will board a boat for an exciting three-and-a-half hour cruise along the Madu River. As we glide through the stunning mangroves, you will uncover the intricacies of this wetland ecosystem, recognized as a World Heritage Site.
Afterwards, we will pause for you to enjoy a meal at one of the local traditional restaurants before we continue our journey to Kosgoda.
If you are passionate about sea turtles, this is an ideal chance to delve deeper into their world at the Kosgoda turtle conservation project. Witness various species of sea turtles before they make their journey back to the ocean—an experience that is sure to leave a lasting impression!
Eventually, we will return you to your hotel in Bentota, with an expected arrival time of 6:30 pm.
