At the designated time, we will gather at the selected pickup point in Bilbao and set off towards the south. Our journey will take us from the lush northern forests to the breathtaking views of the vineyards and wineries dotting the esteemed wine region of La Rioja.

Our initial destination will be a traditional winery located underground, where you will gain insight into the artisanal winemaking techniques. Experience an exceptional tasting of some of the finest wines, true treasures of the area.

Next, we will proceed to Laguardia, renowned as one of Spain's most picturesque villages. Enjoy a guided tour through its medieval core, marveling at the robust architecture and majestic homes. Following the tour, you will have free time to savor lunch in local eateries and wander its charming streets at your own pace.

In the afternoon, the adventure continues in Vitoria-Gasteiz, the Basque Country's capital. We will meander through the historic centre, where medieval heritage seamlessly intertwines with modern life. To conclude our day, we will stop at a famous artisan chocolate shop to sample some traditional sweets, indulging in the finest Basque pastry flavors. A delightful experience awaits!

Ultimately, we will return to Bilbao, wrapping up this enriching 9-hour journey focused on culture and wine.

Day Trip to Vitoria-Gasteiz & Salt Valley of Añana

We will convene at Calle Alameda Mazarredo, number 65, before heading to Vitoria-Gasteiz. Upon our arrival, a panoramic overview of the city will lead us to Plaza de la Virgen Blanca, marking the beginning of a guided walking tour through its historic centre.

Throughout the tour, you will explore the medieval heart of Vitoria, one of northern Spain's best-preserved old towns, distinguished by its unique layout. Wander narrow, cobblestone streets rich in history, lined with Renaissance-style buildings and remnants of the ancient city walls.

After a thorough exploration of Vitoria-Gasteiz, we will journey to one of northern Spain's most captivating landscapes: the Salt Valley of Añana. Here, you'll discover a remarkable valley with a history spanning over 10,000 years, where traditional salt production still thrives today.

Learn about the historic techniques used in salt extraction and the cultural importance of this unique landscape. To enhance your visit, partake in a sampling of various salt types, allowing you to appreciate their distinct qualities and superior excellence.

Finally, we will make our way back to Bilbao, concluding the day trip approximately 6 hours after our departure.
