Bogotá Alternative Tour
Description
Experience the authentic daily life of Bogotá with this alternative tour, featuring a unique opportunity to learn how to play tejo.
Tour Details
We'll gather at Parque de la 93 at the appointed time, ready to embark on our journey through the city's genuine atmosphere. Let's get started!
Our first destination will be Park Way, a significant urban corridor from the 20th century designed as a landscaped residential zone. Here, we will immerse ourselves in one of the most vibrant cultural centers in the capital. Have you heard that this picturesque boulevard was inspired by European urban design?
The next part of our adventure takes us to Quinta Camacho, a historic district known for its Tudor and neo-colonial architecture. While wandering through its charming streets, we’ll delve into the architectural preservation efforts that have transformed former elite residences into upscale dining and cultural hubs, all while maintaining their original charm.
We will then visit the San Felipe district, which has emerged as a lively artistic enclave. Upon arrival, we’ll see how old industrial buildings have been repurposed into modern art galleries, innovative studios, and cultural spaces.
Next, we’ll stop by the renowned house where Yo soy Betty la Fea was filmed, a landmark in the global success of Colombian television.
Our journey continues to La Trocha La Casa de la Paz, established following the 2016 Peace Agreements. This initiative, launched by ex-combatants in the reintegration process, focuses on the solidarity economy as a means for social healing. Here, we’ll uncover how beer brewing supports productive reintegration and fosters collective memory. Naturally, we’ll enjoy a drink in this inspiring setting.
We will wrap up our experience by participating in the game of tejo, a traditional activity rooted in pre-Hispanic culture that remains a vibrant aspect of Colombian heritage. Are you prepared to show your skills?
At the conclusion of our tour, we will return to the starting point, marking the end of an engaging 4.5-hour adventure together.
