Colonial Museum & La Candelaria Guided Tour
Description
Colonial History Tour
You will discover Bogotá's colonial past through a guided visit to the Colonial Museum, where you will explore the social, economic, political, and artistic aspects that shaped over 300 years of history. During this tour, you will understand how colonial society was organized and how art and religion influenced daily life in ancient Santafé. Next, you will wander the cobbled streets of La Candelaria, Bogotá's oldest neighborhood. You will navigate its urban layout while learning about colonial architecture and the city's evolution from the Viceroyalty period to the present day. During this walk, you will sample a taste of the gastronomy from the Cundiboyacense highlands, a culinary tradition that reflects the blending processes between European and Andean cultures, highlighting its significance in the region's cultural identity. Finally, you will delve into the world of Neogranadine Baroque with a guided visit to three of Bogotá's oldest churches: San Francisco Church, La Veracruz Church, and La Tercera Church.
