Tequendama Falls Tour
Description
Embark on an adventure to an extraordinary location shrouded in mist nearly every day of the year with this journey to Tequendama waterfall from Bogotá, offering a beautiful opportunity to immerse yourself in the Colombian landscape!
Tequendama Falls Tour
Your journey begins with a pick-up from your accommodation in Bogotá at the designated time, leading us just 30 kilometers away to the stunning Tequendama waterfall.
Upon our arrival, you’ll have the chance to behold this striking 157-meter (515-foot) waterfall cascading down from the Bogotá River. Learn about the unique cloud forest ecosystem that generates its water and explore the historical significance of ancient indigenous discoveries. According to the Muisca legend, the deity Bochica manifested this waterfall with a mere hit of his staff to avert the flooding of the region’s savannah—truly impressive!
Facing the waterfall, you'll find the Tequendama Falls Museum, a structure showcasing French architecture that opened its doors in 1923 as a retreat for the upper classes. Do you know of the mysterious events that occurred in this area in the early 20th century? We will uncover the story together! Depending on the day you visit, we may enter the museum or admire it from the outside; in either case, you’ll gain insights into this site, recognized as Cultural Heritage.
At the conclusion of our 5-hour exploration, we will return to Bogotá, where your experience will come to an end back at your hotel.
