The highlight of Zipaquirá is the renowned Salt Cathedral, a remarkable architectural wonder situated within the depths of a salt mine, 180 meters (590 feet) below ground. Nearby, the historic district of Zipaquirá showcases a stunning colonial area, featuring significant structures like the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity.
Procedure for Booking
During the booking process, you will choose one of the three options available:
- One-way trip to Zipaquirá: we’ll collect you from your hotel in northern Bogotá and take you to your desired location in Zipaquirá, either in the city center or at the Salt Cathedral. For those in southern Bogotá, pickup will occur at the National Museum.
- One-way trip to Bogotá: we’ll pick you up directly from your hotel in Zipaquirá or at the Salt Cathedral.
- Round-trip service: the most comprehensive choice, facilitating your travel to Zipaquirá and returning to your starting point on the same day.
Departure Times
Whichever option you opt for regarding pickup, the following schedules are established:
- For transport from Bogotá to Zipaquirá, pickup occurs at 7 am.
- For transport from Zipaquirá to Bogotá, pickups are scheduled for 4 pm.
- On a round-trip arrangement, the timing remains consistent: depart at 7 am and return at 4 pm.
Traveling with Children Under 3
Children under 3 years of age may travel free of charge but are required to sit on the lap of a parent or guardian.
Entry to the Salt Cathedral
To ensure your admission to the Salt Cathedral during your visit, it is advisable to book the entry ticket for the Salt Cathedral of Zipaquirá separately.

Important information
Transportation from Bogotá to Zipaquirá
On the day of the transport service, we will pick you up at 7 am from your hotel in the North Zone of Bogotá. We recommend being ready 15 minutes in advance.
If you are staying in the South Zone of Bogotá, we will pick you up at the scheduled time at the National Museum (Museo Nacional), located at: Ak 7 #N. 28-66, Bogotá, Colombia.
Transportation from Zipaquirá to Bogotá
If you have chosen the route from Zipaquirá to Bogotá, we will pick you up at 4 pm at the meeting point selected during your booking: either your hotel in Zipaquirá or the entrance to the Salt Cathedral.
In all cases, the local team will get in touch with you one day before the transport service to confirm all pickup details and final schedules.
Children Under 3
Please note that children under 3 years old travel for free, but they must sit on the lap of their parents or guardians.
