Bear Watching in the Romanian Carpathians
We'll begin our journey at the agreed meeting point, the George Bari?iu Library, before heading towards the scenic Transylvania region. Are you ready to take part in this remarkable bear-watching experience in the Carpathians? Let’s set off!
Throughout our trip, as we arrive at the designated lookout, we will provide details about safety measures and introduce the wildlife you might encounter along the way. This area is renowned globally for its substantial population of Carpathian brown bears, estimated to number around 5,000 individuals!
Upon reaching the wooded areas of the Romanian Carpathians, we will access a unique viewpoint to witness bears in their natural setting. Curious about where they hide or their weight? A forest ranger will guide us along a forest trail to an observation point, where, in serene silence, you will experience the incredible nature of this enchanting region like never before.
There is a notable 70% probability of encountering various wildlife, including wild boars, roe deer, game birds, red deer, wolves, and the majestic brown bears. You might catch a glimpse of large males camouflaged among the trees or see females frolicking with their cubs, providing an ideal opportunity for photographs!
After approximately 4 hours of exploration, we will conclude the activity and return you to the original meeting point in Brasov.
