Zilina + Mala Fatra National Park Day Trip

Join us on an enriching day excursion to Zilina and Mala Fatra National Park, where we will explore the capital city of northwestern Slovakia and delve into the stunning Western Carpathian mountain range.

Day Trip Overview

We'll gather at the designated time at the Bratislava Central Station, from which your high-speed train to Zilina will commence its journey.

Upon arriving at Zilina station, we'll regroup and proceed towards the Vrátna Valley, situated within the picturesque expanses of the Mala Fatra National Park. During our travels, you'll be captivated by the breathtaking landscapes of northern Slovakia, complemented by intriguing stories about the area.

Once we reach our destination, the adventure continues as we board a cable car bound for Snilovske Peak, standing majestically at an altitude of 1524 meters. At the summit, we’ll enjoy a leisurely stroll, taking in the spectacular views of the peaks that define Mala Fatra National Park.

Following our time at the peak, we will descend back into the valley and make our way to Terchova. Nestled amidst the park's mountains, this charming village is renowned for its vibrant folk traditions and musical heritage. Notably, it has been recognized on the UNESCO World Heritage list since 2013. Here, we will visit the stunning church of Saints Cyril and Methodius to learn more about its significant history.

Feeling hungry yet? We will pause at a local restaurant, where you can purchase some lunch if desired.

Next on our itinerary is the vibrant city of Zilina, the capital of northwestern Slovakia. Here, we’ll embark on a guided tour of the historic center, exploring highlights such as the Holy Trinity Cathedral, Budatín Castle, Mariánske Square, and the Rosenfeld Palace.

At the end of our enriching day, we will return to Zilina’s train station, where you will board the train back to Bratislava. After 13.5 hours filled with exploration, we will conclude our journey back at the point of departure.
